These creatures are experts at subversion; and honest, trusting people are too easily manipulated. Eventually they become empty inside, with no direction, and no idea how to improve their situation. Even worse is they will not accept the truth. They’d rather remain miserable for the rest of their life than accept the fact that they were manipulated and lied to.
