Soups, stocks and beans cause winter. My fav is chickpeas for hummus, cook a batch, divide into ball jars, add a little cooking liquid then freeze. A cheap, fresh bowl of hummus just minutes away.. Did you just get the Oui for Christmas? Reddit has a good pressure cooking sub I lurk recipes from..
You mean the pressure cooker? Nope I've had it about a year now.
I haven't tried freezing things in jars, do you find it difficult to keep from breaking? I usually freeze things in a pot or bowl then put in a ziplock.
The ball jars freeze great, never had a explosion lol knock on wood.. I’ve tried to get away from plastic storage, I’ve canned a lot, so I ended up using jars for everything..
I have tried to get away from plastic, too. I cringe when using ziplocks, but I figured it was already frozen so at least no heat to transfer anything to the food. I'll definitely look into using the jars in the freezer, thanks!
Have you found a good solution to containers for tea or lemonade? I've not been able to find a stainless steel or glass pitcher that'll hold a gallon. When I milk the goats, I have a stainless steel canister that I transfer to quart glass jars. I have kids and granite counters so I was hoping for a good stainless option.
