Skunks are most active at night and dusk / dawn, which is when your chickens will be in the coop. Easy enough to have the cage door shut while your chickens are out and about, but have the trap set while the chickens are in the roist and the skunks are prowling. Really, its an easy solution.

I assume theyd go for that, but i fed my barn cats dry cat food and the skunks hammered it until i thought to put it up on the alfalfa stacks, as cats like to climb and skunks dont
