$3000+
Holy shit. That is a huge obligation!
1/3 the cited cost for Voat. It may have less traffic (perhaps less aggro) or much more efficient queries and API calls
Why would it cost 9k to run a website that doesn't even host images? It doesn't make any sense.
9k a month for Voat seems really high.
Does poal take donations? I haven't seen any advertisements....are there additional paid features? Where does this money come from? And why is it provided free?
If you're wondering if it's a Honeypot then the answer is yes. Is a public forum that anyone can see so it's going to be a Honeypot one way or another. Same as voat was, same as all of these places are. Whether the owners are in on it or not is completely irrelevant, your identity is not safe anywhere online even if you're using a VPN.
I agree with that - the only way to not be known is to not use...I get it. Maybe there will be a day we all smash the black mirrors and live without....but not today.
I was just curious if Poal was originally aimed as a free speech platform with the subtle intention for making money...or if they were okay with being non-profit, or what the goal on the financial side was for the creators... eitherway, been okay so far. Lol
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, the donate icon is there.
