I feel like my problem solving skills have gone to shit. How does one most efficiently see what subs exist, how many users they have and how active they?

For instance, I considered asking what people planned to make for dinner on New Year's Day. I managed to figure out p/cooking exists. But I don't know what else or if it's the best choice for such a discussion.

How would I go about that?

I don't need to trouble people that much. I just could figure out where the list was. Just knowing that would let me then try to figure the rest out, which might be a good exercise in its own right. Thankfully I now know about /subs but though I can follow the link I was given, I'm not yet sure where I would have found it on my own.
