I have my suspicions on how it works based on the few down votes that I've given and those whom I've watched, but I wont reveal what I know. So far, the algo appears to be picking the right people.
A better system (which I brought up about a week ago), is to add multiple labels to attribute to each post: 'thank you', 'dumb', 'jew', 'nigger', etc. From there, a mod could properly evaluate a situation without reading through pages of nonsense.
