How about just think for yourself when reading a post with or without a number next to it?
That's what I'm saying...people need to think for themselves regardless of whether the number is negative or not. Obviously I dont know what the solution is (to something I see as a problem) but I just dont like the idea of discouraging people from downvoting.
And the same thing could be said for upvote brigades. I'm assuming it really isnt that hard for one person to have a dozen accounts on this site, what's stopping them from just upvoting a bunch of their retarded comments?
Like I said in the other response, I'm all for just optional filters each user has access to (new, number of posts, traffic, whatever) and leaving it at that.
Just an old fashioned message board, no bullshit.
