I think some company bought PIA, the "secret angel investor." And because Putt likely sold the source code to close the deal, when PIA was bought, the new company didn't want Voat in their portfolio and forced Putt to shut down or lose what ever funding he was receiving. All of this is protected from the public by a NDA he signed.
