Then why not put effort into a Decentralized Client, like Aether, which is immune to all of these issues, instead of yet another HTTP hosted site? Instead people keep putting so much effort into something that can be jerked out from under them today, tomorrow, or 5 minutes from now.
Decentralized technology is not finished because look at TOR, how many exit nodes are compromised? Last I checked it was over 80%, that is why.
There is less chance for poal to be jerked around because of who I am and what I believe and how I've planned for 3 years than anything else I've found and believe me I've looked.
Aether specifically has the problem of disk space just to name a jumping off point. Time to sync everything long term it has problems for the same reason bitcoin does. I'm not buying a cup of coffee with bitcoin for the same reason I'm not asking someone on Aether what I'm supposed to do with the duck liver heart and lungs I'm about to ask poal about. Its a matter of usability.
Browser based is the most accessible to the most people. End of story.
Of course, thus it's the main point where they can exert control. No one said freedom was easy.
Now excuse me while I go install Chrome so I can browse Facebook.
If normies can't access it, then it is an echo chamber.
