It's interesting, and a good skill to have should the internet be more heavily censored and controlled. Or go out completely. What interests me more is mesh networks using various radio bands. Cells could be linked with various back hauls. Long distance radio links, phone lines, fiber lines. It could be completely independent of the 'internet'. It would be wise to start setting something like this up before we need it.
