It is well understood that 'History is written by the Victors' and as such the concept of Afrocentrism is not completely absurd on it's surface... It is a plausible hypotheses.
But like any theory the true test is in the evidence, and there simply is no evidence at all to support Afrocentrism. Show me the sub-sahara ruins of a ancient civilization that did not build buildings out of mud. How about African literature or even evidence pre-colonial literacy? Where are the marble statues carved by an African master? Art? Theater? Music? Science? Industry? Philosophy? There is simply no compelling evidence that there were any significant progress in any of these fields in Africa prior to the colonial era.
Occam's razor dictates that the best explanation for this lack of evidence is that Africa is not where these advances happened, not that there is a massive and ongoing conspiracy to suppress the true history of Africa.
