It just occurred to me while watching the end titles of a movie from Iceland, the have a problem.

iceland does not have family names but uses the first name of the father and then the suffix -sson or -dóttir for men and women. E.g. Björk is called Björk Guðmundsdóttir.

How does that translate to transgender people, would they change their name like you would change your preferred pronouns? Or how does it work for gender fluid people, they would be Gunnarsson in one day and Gunnarsdóttir the next day.

I am confused.

Who cares? If someone is a tranny on that Island, they probably just leave. The population is so low that they would never be able to trick someone into thinking they were a different gender, they would be known.

ok, maybe i should have just googled it, wikipedia says that people can change their identity after a waiting time and choose a new name, that will probably include the last name. then fluid people will like just use do the same day by day
