I think some liberals and progressives drool at the thought of legally turning the US more socialist. With a Republican Senate, that is not going to happen.

At the same time, the US historically bounces back from depression in about ten years.

Recovery always happens. We need to look at things differently and adjust to the economy as it is. Then the recovery occurs. Take care of yourself first.

You presume the people in power care about you. If they did, they would give you UBI. But they don't. Nothing about them is socialist, if it was the majority of the money wouldn't go to large businesses, which don't need it, while leaving the small ones behind. How is that behaviour socialist? Actually, socialism is about distributing for the many, so if a few were allowed to claim the majority of business stimulus, that is the opposite of socialism.
