Art for art's sake is a phrase that expresses the philosophy that the intrinsic value of art, and the only 'true' art, is divorced from any didactic, moral, political, or utilitarian function.
Well I'm glad to see I have the experts approval lol. Its something that isn't easy to do but I need music in my life. So I kind of have to do it.
I'm no expert, just have a passionate interest in a subject like many do.
There are even some songs that I enjoy when I really disagree with the lyrical content and/or the intent of the artist in writing them. Some songs it's the sound of the vocals more than the words said, voice as an instrument.
Voice is an instrument I would agree with once upon a time I was a pretty good singer. It was my instrument then I got older and now I'm still trying to learn to play another.
