I need a water testing kit and a water filter for my house. My area possibly has chlorine in the water. What's the best filter I can get for my house along with a water testing kit? I'm willing to even get one of those water pictures with the filter in it for the time being.

Edit: I need something that I can hook up to the main water supply in my house. Years ago I used to have one at a different house I lived in. Parents had bought it and I doubt they remember what brand it is.

Until like twenty years ago there were mailorder places one could send water sample to, and have it tested for cheap (I think like $50-$100). Haven't been able to find anything like that anymore, even on the internet. I'm still looking, but not hopeful.
