You can start a business for free if you know a trade.
Vending machines are good. I just did this, actually.
We rented a cheap tiny warehouse space in an industrial strip mall to roast coffee. We put vending machines in and between the coffee and the vending machines, it is enough to have a space to jam really loud, at night.
That's awesome! And coffee to keep you through the night.
On this island, you can make a killing doing just about anything. You can spend a few hundred bucks on supplies and make a killing washing windows and cleaning rain gutters. As long as you actually show up and do the job, you'll always have work. Our last window washer was usually booked out 6-9 months in advance and wasn't taking any more customers. He always showed up and got the job done. Sadly, he moved off island.
There are tons of jobs like that. You could easily make a killing doing hot tub and pool maintenance out here, too. A lot of the vacation rentals have hot tubs, and nobody to fix them when they break, which is always. The wealthy folks in the resort areas are desperate for people to maintain their pools.
Which island? Or at least, what's the general area?
Big Island, Hawaii. People are straight lazy here, and because the culture has polychronic roots, saying anything about it is considered horribly rude. Available jobs are most often filled by mainlanders because they generally have a better work ethic. Of course, the locals always cry about how oppressed they are with mainlanders taking all of their opportunities.
Vending and Claw Machines (avoid dindu areas)
(avoid dindu areas)
This is important.
I was thinking claw machines, because there isn't any expiration on the product.
And like vending machines, they are versatile.
I the right area vending machines can be great. Where I am you still get the wiseguys coming to you for a piece of the action if you put them in "their" stores or bars.
Service business can also work well with little investment. Snow plowing / lawn care are pretty easy to get into. Building a clientele is the tricky part.
What does a course in welding cost? I have heard those guys make good money.
VFree in school
Probably, it depends do I have no other expenses that require the 5000 dollars?
No other expenses except perhaps filing for a license.
Right now Its about 400 dollars set aside for filing fees and 5000 to start (total 5400).
Well then the 5000 would not be enough to get it done if a single vending machine cost 5k
They are usually between 500 and a grand.
