China wouldn't be a concern if its gov was anything but a super sized insecure-ethno-totalitarian-control-freak machine

I mean that's the type of country where if you run a joke about the president looking like winnie the pooh, not only you get sent to jail and your relatives too eventually for not rating on you, but the entire (walled) version of internet over there gets censored too in the process, for a lame joke gently mocking the supreme leader... That alone tells you everything you need to know about the chinese gov

Now maybe the current chinese gov is the lesser of two evils, that's also a thing to ponder

Which other government are you comparing? The original Mao full on Communist Government with no capitalism at all or Taiwan's government/Republic of China or the Qing Dynasty government or some other government?

But what government are you comparing the PRC to? There have/has been plenty of governments in the present and the past in human history
