Correct, they don't filter everything. You could run it through multiple different types of filters though, which is what many whole-house systems seem to offer. Another issue is the water that comes through RO is so pure that it tends to pull things into it. So you also have to be aware of your plumbing and if it can handle RO water. Or so I've been told.
