Trying to grab a copy of The Gulag Archipelago and maybe some others, but I'd rather not use Amazon.

Oh well. There goes that one.

Apparently the entirety of sales and distribution of literature worldwide is wholly owned by a single, censorious, politically biased, globalist mega-corporation, whose name for their line of e-readers is literally "Kindle", a pun about book burning.

Yeah the Kindle thing always bothered me.

You could try Chegg or Abebooks, hon.

Abebooks has apparently been a subsidiary of Amazon since 2008 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/AbeBooks). You almost had me there... Chegg only has a new "abridged" version, which, if intended for use in schools or colleges, is probably about 300 pages of foreword explaining how that wasn't real communism, and about 15 heavily edited pages of the original work. I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, I appreciate the recommendations, but the search continues.

I don't think you're ungrateful at all, what you've said is pretty illuminating.

I usually buy from wordery.com, I haven't seen any diversity nonsense from them yet and it's not amazon owned as far as I'm aware
