Yeah. I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of different kinds of shortages coming up.
US Mint workers aren't showing up. The coins don't mint themselves, yet. The penny is likely to be discontinued due to the need for new coins.
Krogers are no longer offering change, like it just gets applied to your next purchase. Food Lion has signs about paying w/ exact change.
Sorry my bad I’ll clean out my cup holder tomorrow
Eliminate coinage completely and make $1 the minimum. Problem solved.
Any other solution is tied to an agenda.
paper does not last as long as coin.
One single printing press generates replacements faster than 1,000 mines produce for in parity to coin.
True. However a coin can last much longer in circulation. I could receive a 1964 penny today...oldest dollar bills that I see today are no more than 5-10 years old.Obviously the older coins are rarer as they end up in jars or are disfigured enough to not be used. Today, I received a 1976 dime, four times older than most bills.
I've seen this as well. Two of the mints are closed down.
It's funny because it was a Loves (a couple weeks ago) that warned me about it. Started to see it all over.
Yeah, because coins are single use only, then they get melted down.
