It is important when they are allowed to have a monopoly. The way the tech giants operate now, you could conceivably argue that they are conspiring to keep out competition. They all can afford to squash it via regulation or just buy it outright. Currently, we don't have a free market in any sector of the economy. That's reality, that's how far down the road to socialism the USA has traveled and only a few realize it.
