I didn't take a job offer as an essential worker because I'm making more off of unemployment.

I'd rather be making an honest living, but I have to do what makes financial sense for myself.

I agree. Until the end of July, there's not a job in my field in the city I live in that will pay what I make right now. I mean, I've helped pay into this system for near 25 years, so I guess it was there for when I needed it, and I should take it.

If something good comes along, and it's a decent pay, I'm taking it. But I'm not taking that $10/hr degree and experience required contract because it makes no sense to do so.

That's until the end of July, state + the CARES act payments. After that it's about $2000 a month until the end of the year, assuming I can't find any employment.

Same here. I've desperately needed some time off. Instead I watch everyone else get paid vacations while my workplace got busier than it's ever been before. I've never seen a dime of this "unemployment" I've been paying taxes on.

I luckily didn't lose my job. I've bought gas 1 time since the Ides of March. That's awesome considering I usually buy gas every 6 or 7 days.

My mom's back to work as of June 1, so she's happy because she hated collecting it. I told her to throw it at debts or sit on it if it made her feel better.

Nada. I almost applied last week, though. It's been a long ass stretch since January and genuinely only about 5% of the apps I've sent out in the past 4 months have even bothered sending me a rejection letter. I'm remaining hopeful on the one interview I had three weeks ago or the dozens of apps still sitting in inboxes, waiting for HR to return to work and process.
