What is their opinion? We all know what the media's opinion is, but I'm wondering what regular people think.

My family members don't like the riots and recognize they're a problem. My co-workers lean liberal, but even they seem skeptical of the riots and aren't too outspoken about them. Same with several of my friends.

I made a similar comment like that one and I got a "we have to do something reply...what about your X, your Y etc." I firmly and calmly laid out it was an emotion based trap. The fake news is going to have an absolute field day if he invokes the Insurrection Act! They are going to be having nose bleeds like male anime characters while jizzing like the idiot in 40 Days and 40 Nights. Thinking back on it, that's quite the disturbing movie seeing how things are now, sorry for the squirrel moment.

I can see the headlines now - SEE! HE'S A DICTATOR LIKE WE SAID! LITERALLY HITLER!

The deranged pubescent boy on MSNBC - WE GOT 'EM! AND THIS TIME I MEAN IT! What? No, not his taxes...

Its really a stupid incident to get worked up over and allow yourself to be manipulated to such an extent.

Edit - Every damn one of these incidents going back to Ferguson is the same fucking playbook. Every time there's bad or not good news about China out of the White House, there's a distraction story.
