I guess I could answer my own post. If it's a song I haven't heard in a while I'll listen to it. If I've heard it recently I may just upvote, I listen to a lot of music daily. I'll always listen to a familiar song if it's an alternate version by the original artist or if it's a cover by a different artist to see what they do with it. There are some genre's and artists I've heard enough that I know I don't enjoy and just move on. I still upvote many as someone cared enough to post and share it. The exception would be shithop/cRap as I don't consider that music or to have any beneficial social import. I also have a firm twice-annual listening to Freebird and Stairway though. I have heard, and performed, both to the point I just can't appreciate even great music like that more than that frequently.
