Oh don't get me wrong, I love listening to, singing to, dancing to, and playing music. I just seldom listen to music on my own. I play music on my own, but don't listen to it that often.
I've noticed that because of this, I get alot more pleasure from listening to music when I do hear it, than others do who listen regularly.
I play music on my own
That sounds like the best way to experience it. What instrument do you play, if I may ask.
the Piano. Most beautiful instrument in existence, imo. It's special because you basically control a choir of 88, perfectly tuned singers, and can have up to 10 (or more, if you're really good) singing at once.
It's quite a masterpiece.
Edit: also, screw the music theory lol. I find a song I like, and learn it by watching a synthesia version of a song, and memorizing it.
Great way of looking at it. I have a 1 sheet piece of music my great grandfather composed in the late 1800's I've been trying to get someone to play it for me. Would you be inclined to look at it?
