That is a complicated answer if you'd like I can do a write up on it later this evening.
I don't want a write up. I already know the answer myself.
If you don't want downvotes, just disable the downvote button in the code.
Its not that I don't want downvotes, I want people who use them to be accountable.
If I downvote, god damn I still want to spell it voat, I dont care who knows. Dont do it much but will own it. I think its a bad idea to let everyone know who downvoats votes though. Just gonna stir shit up. I think in the past I was for knowing who downvoted. Now maybe not so much.
I show that I have down votes given over the number that I know that I have personally given. Meaning, more than likely, I've fat fingered giving a few people a down vote by accident. I don't even have a way to see what you have saved on my own activity yet you're asking if others should have access to before I do.
Think about what data you have and who should really have access to it.
Stackoverflow substracts downvotes from your own reputation.
It just seems passive aggressive. I'm with on this one.
