A lot of atheists are communist faggots and a lot of Christians are reasonable people. But you can be a reasonable person even if you're an atheist, and you can be a communist faggot even if you're Christian (look at the pope, and there are protestant examples as well among common people). To say Atheism is the bedrock of Marxist thought and all those other terrible ideas is basically a guilt-by-association argument.
