I haven't had to have a pair of steel toed boots in a long time and the ones that I had then were just to get me by(generic walmart crap more than likely). I'm needing to get a decent pair that will last me awhile but won't break the bank(<$250 preferred).

I'm looking for:

  • -Water proof
  • -Slip resistent
  • -Safety toe (Is composite good?)
  • -Oil resistant
  • -Prefer 8" height
  • -Flexible(kneeling to standing)

There's a good amount brands, types and opinions out there but what's your guys experience with? Seems like Redwing is about the go to for mid-high range boots.

I got these they lasted a year. They where comfortable. I didn't need steel toe or any of that though. I usually get red wings though. Don't be a cheap ass on boots. Good boots won't wear you out

Ariat's Catalyst VX would be a nice boot. I've never heard of that brand befoe. Going to hit up a shop soon that carries them and just about every other decent brand. Agreed, I'd rather spend the extra and get a decent pair that are comfortable and will last. Learned my lesson years ago with hiking boots.

If you can't decide, you can't go wrong with red wings
