This novel strain is a common cold for young people such as ourselves but a form of H5N1 to the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions such as obesity and other chronic diseases.
I suggest for those who are above the age of 50+, get the vaccine. For younger people & children it's a waste of time & money.

The situation for getting the vaccine seems just like the seasonal flu shot - if you are in a high risk population, it's probably wise to receive it. If you are under 60, it's probably a waste of time/money.
