Hitler did at least three things wrong: there was no holocaust, he let the British army escape France, his top nuclear scientists were defeatist little shits that were unwilling or too lazy to test their theories.
Another thing was that he mistreated his allies in other countres (Baltic, Romania and so on)
They were nowhere close to a nuclear bomb. They could have quadrupled down and still wouldn't have gotten one.
For example, Iran, for decades, with modern technology, and without energy shortages, haven't been able to get one, with all the plans and physics already laid out for them, and not engaging in two wars at the same time.
I've heard that the lead German scientist calculated the threshold for a bomb incorrectly at world destroying quantities, so if he did get his hands on enough uranium and got it working, it might have fun.
Anyway, Germans were really clever and probably figured things out immediately if effort was put into it.
Iran likely has nukes, Pakistan and North Korea do. I don't see America invading them directly for Greater Israel yet and suspect that's why.
