I know that headphone plugs are becoming a rarity these days, but if you designed a smartphone, would you locate the headphone plug on the top or the bottom? (Optionally explain your choice in the comments.)

I know that headphone plugs are becoming a rarity these days, but if you designed a smartphone, would you locate the headphone plug on the top or the bottom?

On the top.
On the bottom.

I voted for bottom, because if one is using the phone horizontally (relative to view) while resting sideways, which means that the phone is upside down, while charging and using headphones, the phone can just be held with the right hand while resting upside down.

One good design decision of Apple (and Samsung since 2015).
