And to preserve their independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds, as the people of England are, our people, like them, must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses; and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they now do, on oatmeal and potatoes; have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account; but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers. I'm very practical.

Others don't want to violate the moral high ground by dirtying their hands with politics. Thats alright. Everyone argues about what approach is best, and some even argue that the divides are what make it impossible, that we need a united front.

That there is a plurality of approaches and ideas is what gives us the opportunity at all, most people don't see that.

Anyone that ever wrote "politics is not a means to an end, but an end in itself" never fully understood politics.

I don't think I'll ever run but I'm good at fund raising and I know there are some candidates I'd be willing to support or even build up.

Some will tell you "thats not practical!, We're doomed. The only way out is to collapse the system."

Maybe they're right...but maybe not. It's hard not be fooled for many people, and the hardest person not to fool is yourself. We often fool ourselves about the surety of our own determinations of the future. But historic myopia is called historic myopia because hindsight, unlike foresight, is 2020.

Point is, we really don't know what will work. If you read Occidental Dissent you may have come across a comment arguing against formal organizations. The commentor goes on to write that our biggest strength is that we're formless, an amorphous movement. It's our strength and our weakness. It makes us hard to label, hard to control. You may have seen what I'm talking about already, what with people tuning out the news and political labels and other bs.

I think the key to success will be as before, avoid being controlled. But the other half of success is growth. So it's not that we don't need formal organizations, we already have those, it's that the context and the strategy need to be scaled up big time. We need a new national, or even western, zeitgeist.

People who use the word 'zeitgeist' are often cunts who don't really grasp the meaning of it, but I think in this instance it makes sense.

Of course you're capable of governing yourself, most people are if they're left alone to figure it out.

It's not about governing yourself, it's about preventing OTHERS from governing you, and that seems to be the most dire problem we have today. As a society and a people, we're currently being governed to death, because we're being governed, legislated, politicized, and propagandized out of existence.

From this perspective, would you say, simply because you yourself don't want to run or be involved, that anyone on our side is wrong for trying a different tact?

It takes all kinds of people.
