I have severe arthritis in my hands and shoulders. I was prescribed medical marijuana for pain management. it worked incredibly well for a year. as an independent contractor I had no problems. recently, I got an offer for an excellent job that pays very well. I explained the situation to my employer. for insurance reasons we held off on starting work until I was able to pass a drug test. I have abstained from my prescribed drug and have just muscled through the pain for a month an a half, yet I still cannot pass a drug test. this is madness. I know I will eventually pass, but this means that I can no longer use a medicine that has improved my quality of life. I guess i'll just go in and get a prescription for oxycontin. i'm sure that will make everything better.

Is their another drug besides oxy that your doctor can give you? The doctor sounds open to alternative solutions.

I'm a bit skeptic on the whole TMS stuff (on how safe it is long term), but it might get you through it. Basically they electrically over stimulate your nerves which lowers their sensitivity and thus reduces pain. (The fact that TMS is being used on brains is the part that sounds retarded to me).
