I like this idea.
In Lesson VIII. Metempsychosis:
Aphorism xiii. Know ye this first Truth of Metempsychosis: The Ego is evolved from the Personal Self. Every living thing possesses a Personal Self, but even among men, many fail to reach Egohood. Egohood is earned, not bestowed as an universal natural gift. Many personalities are born, but few Egos are evolved. Personality perishes in the Astral World, after the death of the physical body—Egohood persists in Re‐embodiment and Rebirth.
The Ego, in this context, is self-awareness, the connection to the mind of the Cosmos - I AM. So according to this chapter, NPC's are real. It's also possible to kill the Ego through the pursuit of evil. So obviously a true psychopath, which lacks self-awareness and a conscience, would be an NPC.
I have previously realized that the Identity imposed by the State is . But looking at this from a slightly broader perspective, the identity used to interact with the State and other people/entities, the divisions from the one mind, is the worldly personality part of the psyche. A pure NPC or psychopath would be only this - he is nothing except his relationships with others, there is no inner self, he is an entirely fake person because there is actually no person on the inside, hence he may identify with his possessions or his profession or decorate his body superficially, perhaps by dying his hair blue, to project an external and artificial personality.
