If you or tag one of my very serious spiderman posts as a shitpost it's gonna be war.
Who decides what is and isn't a shit post?
The OP in most cases.
What happens when man plays God?
This is a place for unfiltered free speech and that is exactly what they should see when they first arrive. If they want to limit the speech they see, then they should have to go in and change a setting.
Additionally, I don't recall what the default is for the NSFW filter, but (and maybe this is obvious) these two features should match in what unchecking & checking the box does. If checking NSFW box allows NSFW tags, then checking the Shitpost box should allow Shitpoast tags.
I agree, the settings should match. Perhaps they should both be enabled by default. However the NSFW tag being disabled by default I think is a good thing just in case younger people discover the site.
It's not you're job to parent other people's kids. It's the parents responsibility. Poal isn't a babysitter but if parents use it as one that's on them
I feel like matching them should be primary and anything else secondary to that (I dont know why I feel that....a touch of ocd maybe).
Then the two choices are either make speech unfiltered by default, and hope that minors are quick enough to change their settings, or have the default include a filter(s) that must be turned off by the user.
So it comes down to how much should we think of the children. I guess Id support a user having to face facts that they need speech filtered but then I don't care about protecting kids. Also, if they find this place then they've probably already seen worse.
So as OP if a mod or admin changes it can I change it back?
I believe yes you could, same as the NSFW tag.
disabled by default
Still waiting on those user flairs.
Its on the way! I'm telling you its happening. Soon
Its coming I swear! no seriously it'll be in the next update.
OK. I give y'all a hard time, but I really do appreciate y'all.
well thanks for being here. I appreciate it.
Everyone should be able to add a single free-form tag to a post or comment. Client-side there could be filtering based on user preferences, eg. hide a comment when 'faggot' is tagged more than 5 times, or bold posts that are tagged with 'original content' more than X out of Y 'shitpost' tags.
