Nobody "deserves" to be placed under communist rule just for serving his country as a soldier during a war started by the government. You wish such a thing on anybody? Okaaaaaay. And of course, your suggestion would include punishment for their wives and children too. Dude, the war is over. Wish the conquered people well. Better to have them as friends than as Soviet allies.
