Yes, but not for the reason you suggest, oft times there is more than one way to look at things. I have, at times, smiled during sad events because i have/had found something beautiful in it. An example. During 911 i was in Vegas on my honeymoon. As i walked through the hotel we stayed in there were a lot of emotions displayed in the faces and actions of the people i passed, most of it was anger. I walked by an elderly couple watching TV, as many people were, and the wife was crying. As she cried her husband stood up, gripped her tight and just held her. Im not sure why but i felt it one of the most beautiful things that i had ever seen, i smiled. There are several other times but they are more personal so ill keep those inside. Remember, humor isnt the only thing that can elicit such emotions.
