Software Engineer. It was way more stressful w/ long hours of salary slavery. Lots of Java, J2EE, and database nonsense at a Fortune 500. That's more than a decade ago for me so can't code for shit presently. I can understand most programming languages pretty well and debug shit as needed but as for writing that would take more involvement. I'm like the idiot that understands Spanish but can't speak it presently.
You could probably code circles around anyone that is being pumped out of "schools" today so don't let time get to you in that regard. No matter what, you have a mindset of logic and knowledge of critical and abstract thinking that is needed in all area of society right now. We need need solid leaders right now as more of the boomers get to the age of not giving a fuck anymore.
