That is way more work than blocking the 13 or 14 people I want to block.
If you are really bothered by so many people, putting in a bit of work to avoid them should be an acceptable trade-off.
Are you doubting if I have valid reasons for wanting to block people? What about being more flexible in allowing users to contstruct their own poal experience?

No, that is wishful thinking. If I can't block people that insult me, I would simply stop using a site.
Allowing people to create total echo chambers violates the point of the site. As the site gains more users I can imagine the blocking capacity will rise, but still not high enough to block relatively many users.
Insults can be just awful at times, but this is the Internet. Being insulted happens.
Yeah, if only you could block all the people that insult you.
