A roofie would be more like a hardware shutdown/reboot switch. It may keep them quiet for a bit, but it won't red-pill them. Better to just send their own programming to a race condition state to allow them to fix their own software bugs. Of course, it helps if you have new code ready.

To be painfully, disgustingly honest, my missus partially redpilled me over two decades ago just after we met. It was something or other pride day or week or whatever it is they were doing at that point back then, and she pointed out 'howcome we don't get to have a pride thing?!' My NPC programming from uni kicked in, but was quickly deleted due to it's obvious erroneousness.
On the other hand, she thinks I'm a chauvanist... but I think that's partly in jest. I can't tell with her, or women in general. Bitches gonna bitch!
