On a drunken whim I started and now I have a problem. While looking for tracks to add to the sub I've encountered the totally expected sub-genres; house, trance, hardcore, breakbeat, chill, cliqhop, drone, ect. None of this fits in my very specialized sub and, in MHO deserves to be heard.

What is the better choice; start a second sub for general EDM or keep it specialized?

I couldn't even start to manage all of the subs that could hold my tastes in music.

Most of us aren't going to have any idea what the different flavors of Dubstep are.
What you can do is set up a list of Flairs to be added on to posts.

Flairs can be helpful to differentiate between genres.

Then I've already made a step (pun intended). Dubstep is a sub-class of EDM. The other flavors I mentioned are also sub-classes; related but distinct.

Would it be better for the community to have one EDM sub or a set of related sub-subs?

Yes, it's all music. But, it could be very nicely categorized for ease of ignoring. I'm over thinking the whole business. I'm aware of that. Which I suppose is your thought on the matter. One sub, post with flare, and fuck off. I can dig it.

I've just been trying to hold my pen steady. Set the words down in the order they come. Don't let the ghosts get ahead of the story.

Just make with the ability to flair genre for each post.

I'd just categorize it in the title and maybe in the post. Otherwise it gets too be too much of a hassle. Not a fan of dubstep for the most part. It's rare for me myself.

I like trance myself. many different types if not styles of trance alone.

  1. hard trance

  2. progressive trance

  3. trance

  4. uplifting trance

  5. female vocal trance

  6. psychedelic trance

  7. psy-trance which is psychedelic trance with a different name.

  8. emotional trance

  9. vocal trance

  10. progressive house trance - usually not a fan of house myself.

  11. deep trance

  12. euphoric trance

give me a few hours I'll get the full list together for trance alone (joking).

listen to uplifting trance the most usually or top 3 at least.

Just call this "uplifting trance" is what I'd do myself.

I wouldn't waste my time trying to explain it exactly unless someone were to ask. I usually encounter that most people don't care or just really don't care for the most part. Only some like knowing.

I do listen to a bit of EDM to as well. High Nrg (Energy) alone or N R G.

Then I switch to something like this. I have this problem myself with different genres / subgenres. I just find a sub to post my music though.

Someone would think I'm an ultra far right wing (white) type. Eagle / Christian cross tattoo alone (0:33-0:34 seconds in). It also says "ultra patriot" at the start as well so they might think that about me. I just like the song or the music though for the most part myself (Plus I'm an American so I don't exactly relate that well). Besides that though.

I'd just specify this as Eastern European Rap or something like that though.
