I quit drinking roughly 40 days ago and I want to go about 6 months without any drinking. I'm still really tired and/or bored of alcohol so I don't crave it at all. It's almost depressing to think about because it doesn't bring me any enjoyment to drink really (I was kind of lucky due to this alone myself).

I want to quit until about May 10th even though I really don't want to think about it right now or drinking that is because I'm still bored of drinking if not just tired. If I do that I prepped for about 45 (roughly) days or roughly a month and a half before even starting. May 10th time frame would put me around 6 months and would be a long break. I wouldn't just start drinking again I'd just wait and see what happens so it might not be until 8-12 months down the road that I start drinking again due to something happening.

Has anyone prepped for a new years resolution? I don't get into new years resolutions that much myself, but I figured this works for now and I already quit drinking a while back.

By coincidence, I also quit drinking about the same time as you.

I've been considering joining a martial arts club with my son/daughter as a new years resolution. I'm getting old and my job hasn't been physically active enough to stay in athletic shape. I'm what fph would call a 'skinny fat'. I don't like having a decrepit human body, so I'm excited about the prospect of helping my kids have the confidence to kick bullies in the nethers and get in better shape at the same time.

As it relates to alcohol, I don't intend to ever start/quit again. It was a habit that was not improving my life. Will I drink again? sure, probably a beer with dinner every now and again, or maybe a few at a time at Christmas/My birthday, but never as a regular habit again.
