EDIT: I apologize for my confusion. I meant no disrespect to the memory of your friend. who I actually remember having at least one conversation with. a very nice fellow in my remembering. my condolences to all of you who were close to him.

The mascot here is a polar bear.
Owl references are in honor of someone that was a regular, and who passed away this year.
I never knew the man, but I'm pleased to see how many people continue to honor his memory.
