Yom Kippur Sermon 5769

A critical analysis of the Jewish alliance with the Christian Right regarding Israel

By Rabbi Caryn Broitman, Yom Kippur 2008

...

>When Menachem Begin became Prime Minister, he made it a point to cultivate relationships with the American religious right. He became good friends with Jerry Falwell, inviting him and hundreds of other evangelical pastors for trips to Israel at the expense of the Israeli government. Falwell responded with endorsements of the Likud Party’s strategy of building Israeli Settlements throughout the West Bank. Begin’s government later gave Falwell his own jet to make his travels to Israel easier.5 Falwell and other leaders of the religious right, including Hal Lindsey, Pat Robertson, and Oral Roberts came through when they were needed by Likud politicians to lobby for their policies. In 1998 when Likud Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came on a state visit to the United States, his first stop was to see leaders of the religious right, such as Ralph Reed director of the Christian Coalition. “We have no greater friends and allies,” he said to them, than the people sitting in this room.”6

>Netanyahu’s statement may be startling to some, but it does make sense if one’s priority for Israel is to hold on to all the biblical land. They were Netanyahu’s best friends, better friends than President Clinton from that perspective, with whom he was meeting the next day and who was pressuring Netanyahu as well as the Palestinians to meaningfully negotiate. For the Likud party and their supporters, this was a smart political alliance. Liberal objections about the real motives of these Evangelicals were not persuasive. True, these Christian right leaders believed the real significance of the State of Israel was its role in the apocalyptic end-times scenario, which they believed would culminate in the wiping out of most Jews and the conversion of the remaining few. This is deeply problematic and offensive for us as Jews. One could argue, however, that we don’t believe in these visions of the end time anyway, so what do they matter? If we agree on what should happen in this world, why not agree to disagree on what happens in the next.

>The CIA and the FBI have Mormon recruitment programs. The apparent incorruptibility of Mormons' moral righteousness make them ideal candidates for the nation's law enforcement and intelligence agencies. Mormons are disproportionately represented in the CIA. A recruiter told the Salt Lake Tribune that returned Mormon missionaries are valued for their foreign language skills, abstinence from drugs and alcohol, and respect for authority.

The Scofield Bible—The Book That Made Zionists of America’s Evangelical Christians

“For a nation to commit the sin of anti-Semitism brings inevitable judgement.”

>Two years after Scofield’s reported conversion to Christianity in 1879, the Atchison Patriot was less than impressed. Describing the former Atchison resident as the “late lawyer, politician and shyster generally,” the article went on to recount a few of Scofield’s “many malicious acts.” These included a series of forgeries in St. Louis, for which he was sentenced to six months in jail.

&gtBeing a “born again” preacher did not preclude Scofield from becoming a member of an exclusive New York men’s club in 1901, either. In his devastating biography, The Incredible Scofield and His Book, Joseph M. Canfield suggests, “The admission of Scofield to the Lotus Club, which could not have been sought by Scofield, strengthens the suspicion that has cropped up before, that someone was directing the career of C.I. Scofield.”

&gtThat someone, Canfield suspects, was associated with one of the club’s committee members, the Wall Street lawyer Samuel Untermeyer. As Canfield intimates, Scofield’s theology was “most helpful in getting Fundamentalist Christians to back the international interest in one of Untermeyer’s pet projects—the Zionist Movement.”

&gtOthers have been even more explicit about the nature of Scofield’s service to the Zionist agenda. In “Unjust War Theory: Christian Zionism and the Road to Jerusalem,” Prof. David W. Lutz writes, “Untermeyer used Scofield, a Kansas City lawyer with no formal training in theology, to inject Zionist ideas into American Protestantism. Untermeyer and other wealthy and influential Zionists whom he introduced to Scofield promoted and funded the latter’s career, including travel in Europe.”

>By that definition, I contend that the LDS edition of the Bible is an excellent Study Bible and equal or superior to such great Study Bibles as Thompson or Scofield.

That's right they're still in the loop and not just a little bit...

Oh, it’s a psyop. Not sure by whom but it absolutely stinks to high heaven of a psyop.
Not sure if it is something to keep boomers jazzed about a broken political system or something to keep people passive while they are replaced by third world detritus.

It can't not be a psy-op given that posting. Some of the Qtards make good videos so I check them out from time to time. After seeing , it's really losing it's luster. Total mental gymnastics. I tune in for the entertainment value ... like being at the circus.

At this point I'm not sure what's the end game behind the Qshit

Worst case scenario would be something like putting american christians, zionist christians, under some sort of a literal mystic trance, with the complicity of key religious authorities ultimately

In the perspective of a holy war for israel, against iran

With mass manipulation stuffs on the way, such as self-fulfilling prophecies, but the heavy load this time https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-fulfilling_prophecy

Imagine the psychological disaster for those who quit Q, thinking it's bs, and bang, one day live on national audience, you have a prediction coming true, like a major one, totally staged. Total relapse they are done, on par with an ex heroin addict getting a top quality shot

They swallowed entire loads of meaningless shit already, so imagine how high they'll jump once you put the real shit "on the market"

Needless to mention the hardcore fans, it's going to be the consecration

The absolute horror socially speaking, it's going to get super contagious among christians even beyond the USA, and nobody will be able to reason them, it's going to be pure blind faith they'll turn 1000000% irrational like jesus spoke to them or some shit

...

That's the worst case of militarized scenario I can think of, mass hysteria, mystico-religious crisis/hysteria, unstoppable, fanatization of christians, the absolute horror

Like they all hand their own kids to die for israel because they all saw the virgin mary or some shit nobody but them can understand

Few things scare me and that's one of them because I know if this is well done, there's nothing you can do to change their mind

...

In 2, 3 maybe 5 years down the road who knows

This whole qshit could very well be a psychological timebomb with a very long fuse, so idk
