Done it a few times and never once have I gotten bed bugs or any other bullshit. However the best sleeping apparatus I've gotten was the couch that came with my house. I was going to throw it out but I slept on it one night and damn this thing is like a damn lazy boy but its a couch. You just sink into it. I'll probably throw it out at some point but that'll be a sad day.

Make your own, memory foam is cheap as shit if you just buy it as is from a supplier and you can layer whatever you want to make your desired firmness and get a dust jacket to hold it all together. Just look up the dimensions of a king and you can make one for a couple hundred bucks
