It took me a year or so to get established in this field, I started out doing warehouse bitch work until I got a decent job in this industry.

You didn't need to complete a 4 year apprenticeship first? Get all your certificates and licences etc? I looked into doing trade work and was shocked to learn that I'd need just as much study time as I did to be an engineer.
