Getting drunk is currently regarded as a rite of passage. When the drinking age was hiked from eighteen to twenty-one alcohol related deaths dropped for three years; it shot up again when the kids turned twenty-one. Instead of dying as freshmen in college they died as juniors. Maybe we should stop the whole cycle.
"When you're an adult you can behave irresponsibly" is a bad message to send to kids.
