Actually, I disagree.
When you have the flu, or a bad cough, or sore throat, that's because of mucus (snot/boogers), that when down your throat, instead of out your nose.
There's a chance that when you swallow down snot, even stuff picked out of your nose, you could give yourself an infection if there was anything in there that was particularly nasty.

Now I have never heard of an infection from eating a booger. Sounds a little outlandish. Granted, I'm not a med, but I'm guessing you're not either.
