I am not really sure what you are asking. But did you know the most common food item bought with SNAP is ?

100 usd is not a lot of money, easily obtainable and enough to feed you easily for a month. You could probably stretch it to two months or more but you would be at a deficit most likely. Soda is a luxury item in my estimation as obese people cannot be considered poor as they would fail to remain fat. I guess that is debatable since poverty of life quality could be a view when reading poverty. Well fuck this was a poorly thought out question on my part.

I guess what I am pointing out is that in America a majority of SNAP recipeints (who are supposed to be poor enough that they need assistance to buy food) are obese and buy luxury items like soda and chips. I have never seen a starving poor person in America, well excluding drug addicts.

Grocery stores have "thrift" sections of dented cans, almost out of date ground beef, etc. Like $2/lb ground beef.

When I was unemployed I ate two meals per day - half of a hamburger helper for lunch/dinner and eggs/bacon(pieces/bits) for breakfast. The bacon pieces/bits are not easy to fry up but they are nutrition.

That's an interesting way of looking at the discount food. I just find it to be prudent planning on the meat as you can freeze it. They really still sell dented cans at discount there? I stopped noticing that in the 90s, everywhere I have been keeps the dented ones on the shelf at regular price. Next time you go to the store look at the price of bacon bits per ounce, I am almost positive it is more expensive than uncooked bacon.

no, not bacon bits like for salad, there is a product called "bits & pieces" that's the shitty parts of the bacon process but it's still bacon just not strips. About 1/2 of what bacon costs per oz.

Yeah some grocery stores have the discount shelves back by the stockroom doors... the meat is still in the meat cooler.

Rice, hard boiled eggs and lentils is pretty cheap and good. Add a sausage in there and it goes great with the lentils.
