I typically don't drink much

I've been peer pressure into doing it more lately, and I dont like it.

I'd rather get back into shape and ive the moderate life instead of the highest high and lowest low

Drinkers always want someone to wallow in their misery with them.

You need to change the people your hanging around. Find something you like, join a club and meet new people there.

Staying busy and adequate tire yourself mentally and physically every day. You’ll be so done at the end of the day you won’t even be bothered to drink.

True. That's why alcoholics always radiate towards each other. I tried to help one once, never again. They don't want to change, just want to wallow.

Yeah, I'd say maybe 1 in 5 ends up actually breaking away from.their habit sadly.

I consume no alcohol (jewce). None whatsoever, had a few drinks at age 16 and that was it (and I'm old now). I'm not tempted at all, never have been.

More for me!

Hell yeah, man! Stop by the boat, I have cold beers in the ice box!

If you overcome a particular addiction such as alcoholism, it will never again be a problem for you in any subsequent reincarnation.

I'd rather get back into shape

Do that, and peer pressure your shitty alcoholic friends into doing it too. You could even use beer to motivate them.

Let's go to the gym, then get a beer after.

If they can keep that up for a while maybe they won't want the beer any more.

Bro. Don't follow the herd.

Haha, I misread that as "beer pressure".

You need to find something better to do than to fall to peer pressure. If there's a pattern of them going out, then you need to start having something else to do at that time instead.

You don't mention what the poison is, so this may not apply to your situation, but lots of different beers cause boobs to grow as it contains estrogen mimicers.

True, that's why men who drink always have moobs and belly fat. And wide hips Ugghh.

I will have a glass of wine with dinner on occasion, or a beer every now and then. At my age I'm past the getting wasted aspect of drinking.

Best thing I've found is to keep yourself busy. Do social stuff in particular to occupy your time.

I haven't quite figured out how to deal when you can't find ways to occupy the time, and/or can't get into social groups easily.

I always drink too much when my girlfriend is out of town

exercise, go for a walk, read,

alcohol, if we're talking about that, calcifies your pineal gland

logically realizing that alcohol physically dehydrates blood and brain, while most severe psychological imbalance is due to a dehydrated brain... while most of us is challenged to remain hydrated on the best of conditions!... at best alcohol must at most be enjoyed as an infrequent treat in humid seasons!!!

You have to learn to say "no" or avoid being around said people I figure myself. Learning to say "no" is huge or key to me personally. I have a cold as fuck side to myself at times (that I developed over the years). Just say "no" and/or be cold about it. Don't even care you aren't me and that's not what I want to do myself. Don't even waste your time at that point. Almost like some type of enforcer mindset that I just say "no" completely without any care for the most part if any at all. It's how I stayed off street drugs to as well growing up myself and I'm getting very anti-drug at times except for caffeine and nicotine (somewhat on these to as well - I'm not perfect). I only did weed myself and even then I haven't done weed in years. Stayed away from the cocaine, meth, heroine, and/or all that crap alone at least. Just say "no" and/or develop an enforcer mindset so no one can try to get me to do drugs alone for the most part.

I used to spend time writing it out and such to as well to help my mind become more resistant to it as well to knock the fuck out of heavy street drugs in my mind for the most part so I'd never want to do them myself. Glad i stayed out of the medicine cabinet to as well and have never done opiates which are wrecking havoc on america right now or have been the past few years alone at least since 2012-2013 time frame or so when I started to notice that kind of stuff myself.

You really just have to learn to develop a way to say "no" if not just say "no" and learn a bit from hard "no"s since you had no time to prepare to say "no" for the most part. Drugs aren't healthy at all in the long run and alcohol even though it's legal has to be done in moderation to me personally.

After Boogaard's death (especially) in 2011 from opiates it opened my eyes / changed my world completely to the world of drugs. Even alcohol you can't go on forever with.

drinking is a major cause of death to as well in the u.s. alone. It doesn't matter if they are legal / illegal to me at times. Since alcohol can be way more damaging (cause more deaths) alone even though it's legal.

I find stuff to do myself personally. I've drank 2x this month so far or so. I'm trying to get my rotations to be every two weeks if not once a month at most (if not longer). I'm kind of bored of drinking and/or tired of it myself personally though.

idk man. I think drinking sometimes is okay.

I'm up working late on some stuff I care about, but am having a few drinks as I do it. Because I work too much.
